  • Orientation towards (and seeing the benefit of) the variety of needs and personal motivation of people.

  • Learning by cooperation – consultants provide theoretical and practical materials that stimulate awareness, whereas people freely choose what and how to apply in their situations.

  • Purposeful reflection – continuous encouragement to understand what I do, what is happening to me, how is this related with requirements of the activity and learning objectives.

  • Contextuality – situations and questions are suggested that help people relate the acquired knowledge with their work reality.

  • Personal learning – consultants encourage personal rather than abstract learning.

  • Created relationships – for the successful implementation of given tasks cooperation and communication, shared responsibilities and common action is required. Most of the time people spend together they are interdependent and have to rely on each other. This strengthens renewed and better knowing of each other and increased trust.

  • Change. By taking unusual tasks people reach into the unknown, the state where old and trusted ways, status, usual roles, usual behaviours do not necessarily work. The need for instant learning, finding out personal and group strengths and instant application of knowledge and discoveries is created.

  • Evident consequence – in training the time period between idea and result is compressed. The consequences of decisions made in a seminar can be evaluated and group work can be reviewed and developed accordingly during the seminar.

  • Safe risk – experience lets people experiment, face challenges, try out new roles and make mistakes without harming oneself or the organisation. The risk is more experienced than real. People experiment with themselves stretching the settled boundaries of the possible.

  • Variety of strengths and strength in variety – to fulfil the tasks full mental emotional and physical resources of the group are needed. Differences of group members become valuable strengths in facing the challenges.

  • Common memories – after the training, commonly experienced events, metaphors and images are remembered in the working environment. In this way commonly understood hints are born, that help to remember important discoveries and lessons learnt.

  • Bodily memory – discoveries are not only thought of, they are experienced emotionally with the full body. Such experience is generally remembered for a much longer period of time.

  • Fun. People get involved and become more open and active easier. Emphasis is placed on making learning a rewarding process. Authentic learning is only possible when people are relaxed and allow for both mistakes and improvement.
